The Sony A7rII is set to PAL, MP4, 1920 x 1080 25p 16M. Many tutorials say it's the problem with Macs not allowing the download and you have to change settings in the Security & Privacy part of your system settings. I am running Catalina 10.15.7, I just installed the latest Desktop Video driver (12) from the Black Magic support site and installed. This then seemed to prompt another firmware update that started by itself - said the hardware needed updating - and then miraculously, it recognised the mini recorder and we were good to go! The rest was just as all 1,009 video tutorials I watched told me! I finally realised that as of May 2020 you need to instal the updated version: "Desktop Video 11.5.1" after uninstalling the 10.9.4 version that everyone tells you to install! I tried for hours and hours to get my Macbook to recognise my new Blackmagic Ultrastudio Mini Recorder to no avail - as all help forums, tutorials and drivers etc all point to an old instal of the software (Desktop Video Setup 10.9.4) I just wanted to add something to this thread.
